Website Review

The website I chose to review is one I mentioned in my other post regarding my persona and domain. This website is one I visit often to see updates about vendors and merchandise offered at a place my wife and I enjoy perusing for hours on end. The website is Angel's Antiques and Flea Mall.

I find the website to be very effective in reaching the businesses target audience. The tone is upbeat and exciting while being informative. The language used is designed to be understood and relatable to those visiting the website and navigating to the various pages linked from the homepage. The content is very clear and concise and focuses on what is offered as well as how to become a renter within the booth rental area of the building. The writing style is very easy to read and follow while being short and to the point. There is not a lot of unnecessary content, and the graphics are vibrant and eye-catching.

Navigating the website is easy. The homepage includes a banner across the top which contains a link to their FAQ page, directions/map, the phone number, email and links to social media pages. As you scroll down the homepage, basic information about the business is provided, links to blogs, and a contact form. The hours of operation are also located on the homepage near the top while further down are customer and vendor comments and a map of their exact location. The homepage includes links to an "about" page which gives information on how the business began as well as where it got its name. The next link is to information on how to become a booth renter. This page gives costs based on size of each available area, what features are available in the booth, and the way sales are tallied. The next link from the homepage takes you to photos of merchandise available at different booths in the store. Next is a link to the various blogs available by booth renters and the owners. Most of these blogs are older but still provide some basic information and layout of the store. The next link is the calendar which provides information on any special events or closings that may be taking place. The last link is the contact link that lists the location, phone numbers, email, and has a contact form which sends any questions or comments straight to the business itself.

I find the homepage to be awesome. You really do not have to click on any of the other links available to get the information you need. The only thing I would like to see added are more up to date photos of current merchandise and vendors. However, I know how they make more sales is by getting people inside the store. If they show everything they have, what is the purpose of visiting? While their website does offer some good, basic information, their Facebook page is where I typically go to see what the latest news and product is. Social media pages are not necessarily replacements for main webpages, but with businesses such as this one, they are able to reach more people using this platform.
